Wireless Device Modes
The different type of modes and how they are used
Each mode has a different power pull which can deplete the battery life depending on how you use it. Wireless devices get the best life span when kept in endurance, but we offer a variety of modes for your recovery needs.
To switch modes, you will need to wait for the next time the device checks in then it will switch the mode.
Trip:
Trip is the mode the device is in once it is active from shipping. Trip mode will report every trip start, trip end, and once every 24 hours. After about 50 trips the mode will automatically switch to Endurance.
This is best used when getting a history of the device or right out of activating.
Endurance:
Endurance mode will have the most battery life. It will report twice a day (every 11 hours). While it is not reporting you will not be able to locate the device.
This is best used to conserve the battery life.
Recovery:
Recovery is where the device will report every trip start, trip end, and every hour not in a trip. This mode will switch back to Endurance after 72 hours with no movement.
This is best used when a vehicle is out for repo - this will start the locates more frequently to allow an easier time to locate.
Active:
Active is an "Always On" mode. You only want to use this as needed as it is a HIGH battery drain due to the wireless being on. This allows a locate on demand to be completed as well as every 15 minutes reporting. After 1 hour the mode changes to Recovery.
This is best used when out for repo and already in recovery mode.
